So I’ll start by admitting that I have zero media experience, but I will say I am a self-proclaimed “useless trivia savant”. I come from a financial/business background, spending time in public accounting and now in consulting, so I hope you’ll excuse my lack of creativity. This show is the brainchild of me and Rashad's incessant complaining about the lack of ‘real’ portrayals of Arabs and particularly Arab-Americans. We finally decided to stop complaining and do something about it. So here we are, trying to educate, amuse, enlighten and entertain the masses. We really hope you enjoy and join us in spreading the knowledge of who we really are. I’d like to thank everyone that helped put this show together.

First let me just say, I am thankful Mohammad and I finally got off are asses to put “Rise Up” in motion.
When I started my TV career back in 1997, I had one clear vision in mind. I wanted to be a voice in the Arab Community. I knew there was, and still is, a need for outspoken young Arab-Americans to shape the image of who we are and what we really stand for. Finally, after 12 years, things have come to full circle. I own and operate Rush Entertainment Photography and Video in Orland Park. My Wife Aziza and son Adam are my heart and soul. Although Aziza thinks I am insane to take on another project to go along with the other projects I am currently working on. But, she knows and we all know, a show about the genuine Arab identity is too crucial and far past due. So I hope this show will be one step of many to achieving what we all want, our voice and our vision to be heard. Thanks for checking in and spread the good word about Rise Up. |
